How we react to things can help and hinder us.
SOMEONE ANNOYS YOU IN A MEETING.. DO YOU:
- Do you get annoyed and then shut down and ignore people?
- Or get fired up, act all dominant and speak up with passion?
- Sink in your chair?
- Start planning your comeback?
All of these are emotional responses to something frustrating you.
And I'm not asking you to change your response.. this is about being aware.
Self awareness, having the ability to navigate your emotions is VERY important. It's a skill that takes time.
So take the first step and think about how you naturally respond in situations at work.
